With the Lite server down, there is little we can do other than mourn the loss of the once flourishing Lite server. Even if we were to successfully restart it, there are several things that could be done that could give us a clean start.
Removal of the Base Stealth Generator
- If any of you recall from the previous forum, the base gapgen makes rushing difficult, and makes it easy for people to camp
- Snipers, including myself, can't effectively kill stealthed engineers
Increase the Credit Flow to 3 Per/Second
- People can't use the commands if they don't have the money to do it
- With 2 credits per second, it's hard to use the commands without point whoring in some way
Reinstallation of the Flying Maps
- As notorious as flying vehicles are, people are always attracted to the ability to fly
- Aircraft seem powerful enough as is without !vup, so I suggest removing !vup for aircraft except for the transport helicopter
Creation of !me Characters
- In the Lite server, there was a massive population explosion that came with the introduction of !me characters
- Perhaps we can utilize this to our advantage to lure in other players
- There have to be limits though, I found Demo-!me's effective enough to wipe out an entire base single handedly
- Don't just dish !me characters out like it's nothing
- Have a requirement to it, such as a person registering to this forum, and playing on this server for at least 2 weeks or so
Removal of !vup for Mobile Artillery/MRL
- Mobile Artilleries are plenty annoying enough
- No need to make them even harder to kill
On a side note, we should NEVER implement newmaps, as that seems to be one of the factors leading to the downfall of the Lite server. If you have anything to say, give details regarding your opinion.
